Where we Started
Several years ago, Rad Campaign founded Women Who Tech to support and empower women in the technology field. After seeing the lack of funding for women-led tech ventures, we then launched the Women Startup Challenge to disrupt a culture and economy that has made it exceedingly difficult for women to launch ventures and raise capital. Only 7% of investor money goes to women-led startups in the U.S. For women of color, it's even lower.
What we Did
In partnership with Craig Newmark, founder of craigslist, we developed a program that has cultivated a pipeline of close to 2,000 women-led ventures, provided more than $1 million in grants and prizes, provided coaching and mentoring, and helped startups close seven-figure funding rounds. Women Who Tech and the Women Startup Challenge is incubated inside Rad Campaign and deeply understands the unique challenges and power dynamics women face, whether it’s launching their own ventures or running for office.
Where it led
We created and built one of the largest movements to promote diversity in tech and start-ups. Rad Campaign launched Women Who Tech to disrupt a culture and economy that has made it exceedingly difficult for women entrepreneurs to access capital.
Our Strategy includes showcasing the best early stage women-led startups to investors, mobilizing a network of 65,000+ women in tech and startup founders, building a robust network of investors to mentor startups, generating press coverage in Fast Company, Reuters, Recode, Techcrunch, Forbes, Forbes, Yahoo Finance, CNBC, and more.
Our work included naming the brand and designing all brand assets for multiple channels and collateral for virtual and in-person events — at Google, Microsoft, and City Hall in London and Paris, and more. We also developed core messaging, impact statements and positioning that translated across the Women Who Tech website, social media, infographics, and more.
