CWA came to Rad Campaign in 2014 with a website that had last been redesigned in 2010. Since that time, the website had seen a large increase in traffic from mobile devices but the website design was dated and it was not responsive. The CWA team was also struggling with limited functionality on their Expression Engine CMS, which made it difficult to manage and build onto their website iteratively.
- During Discovery, Rad Campaign collaborated with CWA to strategize and plan improvements for their site navigation, content strategy, CWA News Quarterly publication process, Search Engine Optimization, and conversion goals.
- Given the time-sensitive nature of their bargaining work, it was crucial that the website highlighted news effectively for its members and had no down time under significant traffic spikes, which was a problem prior to working with Rad Campaign.
- From a design perspective, it was important for CWA to have a more traditional labor look and feel to the design that would be accessible to their union members and activists.
- Rad Campaign developed the main website and 6 district sites that achieved all of CWA's goals, and we continue to grow the features of the website and conduct A/B testing on spurring new signups.
