Veterans Charity Challenge

In the battle to get people’s attention across the web, what’s the best way to showcase 200+ veterans and military family organizations in an effort to spark fundraising? This was exactly what the Veterans Charity Challenge did.

Veterans Charity Challenge

Crowdfunding for veterans and military families

Rad Campaign worked with Craig Newmark of craigslist and craigconnects to develop the annual Veterans Charity Challenge to raise funds for America’s heroes benefiting veterans and military family charities.

Our Approach

  • Partner with CrowdRise (cofounded by actor Ed Norton) and Razoo, two of the largest crowdfunding platforms.
  • Develop a plan to recruit over 200 veterans and military nonprofits to participate in the national challenge to compete and raise the most money with the top teams winning cash prizes from Craig Newmark.
  • Provide sample online fundraising messaging and social media engagement templates for nonprofits to adapt.
  • Promote the Veterans Charity Challenges across multiple online channels.

Over $1M Raised for Veterans and Military Families

For the past four years we have coordinated the Veterans Charity Challenge on behalf of Craig Newmark and worked with 200+ veterans and military family organizations who were in critical need of funds to support vets with PTSD, medical injuries, and job training. In addition to funds raised and the cultivation of new donors for charities such as Warrior Canine Connection, National Military Family Association, and Leave No Veteran Behind, we also worked with Craig to promote these organizations’ work on social media and through blogging on Huffington Post, craigconnects.org, Medium, and LinkedIn, where Craig is part of their influencer program.
